LYON
HALLS OF RESIDENCE

In Lyon, Condé International can help international students to find accommodation.

Accommodation is provided in students' halls of residence, in fully equipped and furnished studio flats.

Studios include a bedroom, kitchen facilities including a fridge, electrical hotplates, sometimes a microwave oven, and a bathroom.

The halls of residence are only open to students and are guarded. They are safe, clean and modern places.

Some halls of residence provide additional services, such as a laundry room, a breakfast service, vacuum cleaner and iron hire, a TV room, a sports room.

The closest hall of residence is located only five minutes from the school while the farthest ones are not more than 20 minutes away by tramway or underground. Students therefore never live very far from the school !

Reservation conditions

If you want Condé International to find a studio flat for you, you must fill in the accommodation part of the application form and send the placement fees (80 €) and guarantee fees (380 €) together with your school fee payment. No accommodation can be found if the payment has not been received.

Once payment has been made, Condé International sends you the details of one or several studio flats indicating location, surface area and cost. You inform Condé International of your choice and we send you the detailed address of the hall of residence. The residence sends you an invoice which is to be settled before your arrival. No studio will be booked until the invoice has been paid .

IMPORTANT  : rental contracts always run until August 31st. Students must therefore pay rents until August 31st even if they leave the studio before that date. International students must pay all the rents (usually for 12 rents, if they arrive in September or October) in advance before their arrival.

Arrivals at the residence must take place between 9a.m. and 5pm from Mondays to Fridays. Students arriving after 5pm or during a week-end have to stay at a hotel until the residence reopens.

Most students are entitled to receive a monthly grant from the state to help them pay their rents (approximately 140 euros per month, except the 1st month)and this is to be deducted from the above-mentioned prices. Deposits are given back to students at the end of their stay.
Guarantee fees are paid back to the residence in order to cover expenses for the 1st month’s rent and, in some cases, for a part of the 2nd month’s rent. Placement and guarantee fees are not refunded in the case of students who cancel before or on arrival, after a studio flat has been found for them.
